angryfans.ca

Here at angryfans.ca it is the goal of all those involved to acknowledge the great contributions to sports that have come out of anger. Be it a heated argument, a fistfight, or a career committed to being the angriest man on the field of play, so many great men have shown us the way in the world of sports fuelled by nothing more than their own outward hostility.

Inductions will happen twice a year, with one man being inducted in each category per induction ceremony. The inaugural induction on launch day, August 1, 2009, was selected by the staff of angryfans.ca. Every subsequent induction will be chosen by the readers of the site after the staff nominates two people in each category.

Induction announcements will be made on January 1 and July 1, making for six inductions per calendar year.

There are three categories in the angryfans.ca Hall of Fame:

Players

These are the guys who have been bringing rage to sports in the biggest way possible: by playing angry every day of their lives. Whether they exploded in an interview or at a press conference, fought with teammates, or just love getting ejected, this is their category. Retired players are also eligible in this field, provided they reached their pinnacle of anger during their playing days and not as a coach or GM.

Coaches & Management

Just because you stand behind the bench or sit in the pressbox doesn’t mean you’re not full of anger. The men eligible in this section of the Hall are living proof. Storming onto the field to throw down with an official, yelling from your perch atop the arena looking down on the team you built, or lashing out in media scrums and pressers are all great ways to get yourself noticed and earn your way into the angryfans.ca Hall of Fame.

Builders

Every sport has a foundation on which it was built, and those who put that foundation in place are often acknowledged for their contributions. The angryfans.ca Hall of Fame is no different. Simply put, the Builders category is a potpourri of sports mayhem that covers anyone out there who doesn’t fit one of the other two categories. Be it a fan, a ref, an owner, or any other person out there in sports world known for his anger, this is where you belong come induction time.
