AF Thumbs Up

Thumbs up to the Cincinnati Bengals for their interest in Terrell Owens. Make no mistake, TO is a terrible signing for any team in the league, but the dysfunctional Bengals are always a great option for malcontents and if they sign Owens you can be guaranteed that something funny will at least come of it.

AF Thumbs Down

Thumbs down to Mike Van Ryn retiring. It's too bad when a decent enough player is forced to retire in his prime due to injury, and while Van Ryn certainly wasn't cluttering his mantle with Norris trophies he definitely deserved a better fate. Hopefully he has a good run as assistant coach of the Niagara Ice Dogs as he moves onto his post-NHL career.
