Ron Artest
Forward, National Basketball Association
Professional Teams: Chicago Bulls, Indiana Pacers, Sacramento Kings, Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Lakers

When Dennis Rodman retired, many wondered who would carry the rage torch in the NBA. Some were even concerned that the league would be less colourful with The Worm off pursuing various crossdressing-based endeavours. Well, luckily, Ron Artest came to town and quickly overtook the crown of angriest man in the game.

What all started with a lousy rap album and some yelling at refs rapidly escalated into pushing opposing players and aggressive flagrant fouls. But the coup de grace was the infamous Malice at the Palace incident, when Artest completely went off and ran into the stands to begin fighting Pistons fans. His image has been somewhat rehabbed since, as he’s more about trash talk now than fighting paying customers, but AF will immortalize him as the guy who started the biggest brawl in the modern era of sports.

Congrats Ron Artest, you’re a first ballot hall of famer with ease.

John Rocker
Pitcher (retired), Major League Baseball
Professional Teams: Atlanta Braves, Cleveland Indians, Texas Rangers, Tampa Bay Devil Rays

The first player ever inducted into the angryfans.ca Hall of Fame could really be no other. John Rocker was one of the angriest men to ever play any sport, as anyone could confirm by his involvement in bench-clearing brawls, vocal hatred of the city of New York, and willingness to hurl racial slurs around without any provocation. John Rocker was such a ridiculous figure in sports that most teammates he had would quickly point to his anger issues as a reason for strain on the team or as the outright cause of the aforementioned bench-clearing antics. In fact he was so notoriously angry that Saturday Night Live left mocking him in the hands of Will Ferrell, one of the most outlandish comedians they had on staff at the time.

Congratulations John Rocker, your anger entertained a nation for all the wrong reasons and angryfans.ca salutes you for it with an induction in the Hall of Fame.
